Reflection #2

The story I chose to reflect on is "The Falling Girl", by Dino Buzzati. This story is about a girl who commits suicide from the top of her apartment buildings. As she was falling the wealthy people were questioning her as she fell. They also examined and commented on her. They were inviting her to their cocktail parties but she always refused. She refused because she said she was in a hurry. Someone had question on her on that and all she said was, "They're waiting for me down there." The time was suspended for a long time because once she passed by a couple, they saw an old lady. She was young and yet once she was at the bottom she was an old women. I found this story interesting because it shows the kind of world we live in. The language of the story isn't as serious as I thought it would be. It is more gentle and lovely. When you think of someone falling from a skyscraper, you think it'd be more serious. The author made it seem as if she was gently f
